Think back to when you were a kid, sitting in class for 6-8 hours per day. Now imagine doing that in 100+ degree heat and no electricity. This is the situation most school students find themselves in every day in Haiti. After many years, Life Connection Mission in Montrouis, Haiti has finally been able to install a solar-powered electrical system in their school building. As you can imagine, this has opened up enormous new possibilities for increasing the educational quality of the school! While we have many plans in mind, it seems only logical to start with the basics.
Students can’t learn very well when they are physically miserable. The average high temperature in Haiti is in the 90’s year-round with Spring and Fall humidity levels making it feel much hotter. Excessive heat and air stagnation have always been a consistent issue. So, as a first step in harnessing the benefits of our new electrical system, we are raising funds to have ceiling fans installed in all 18 of our classrooms.
Please consider making a donation to our Ceiling Fan Fund to help dramatically improve the conditions of our mission school classrooms. You can “buy a fan” with a $100 donation or donate any other amount you see fit. Every dollar will help. Our goal is to have a fan in every classroom by the start of the Fall 2017 school year in September.
