Ways to Help

Think about how much more we have than most people in the world and how important it is to share.

1. Consider making a gift of stock:

                         Charles Schwab

                         Orlando Operations Mailing

                         1958 Summit Park Drive

                         Suite 200

                         Orlando, FL 32810

                         DTC#- 0164, Code 40

Life Connection Mission, Inc. Account # 2410-0980

2. Take advantage of your employer’s matching program for charitable contributions.

3. You can be our biggest advocates... tell friends and family, large and small businesses, hospitals and doctors that we need their help!

4. Encourage your child’s school to become involved in a school-wide drive!

  • socks & underwear
  • school supplies
  • gently used clothes and shoes
  • hygiene products

Contact us for more information, slide shows, or additional ideas.

5. Host a Fundraiser: We have met many of our goals with great success because of our supporters’ creative ways to raise money and awareness.

  • raffle at you school, office, or church
  • happy hour or social gathering
  • yard sale
  • Girl Scouts choose LCM to receive your cookie proceeds
  • mulch sale

6. Let the children get involved

At only 7 years old, Billy Allston is already learning the importance of helping others. To celebrate his birthday in early August, Billy asked his friends to bring gifts for the children in Montrouis instead of gifts for himself. Billy’s example helps remind us all how truly blessed and fortunate we are. We never have to really want for anything. The simple help and kindness displayed by Billy and his friends is a lesson of love and generosity. “It made me feel good because I knew the kids in Haiti didn’t have that much stuff, and I wanted the kids there to have more fun!”

Michael Depman, a 4th grade student at St. Patrick’s, asked his parents to sponsor a 9-year-old boy in Montrouis as his 10th birthday present. Michael’s parents are now sponsoring Carrington Excellent!

At Our Lady of Mercy School, Potomac, Maryland, the Treacy family has started a birthday tradition. This year, 10-year-old Devin invited his friends over for a birthday swim and sleepover party. In lieu of gifts, Devin’s 4th grade classmates were asked to bring checks to help the children of Montrouis. His sister, 8-year-old Emme, did the same with her 2nd grade classmates. Together, Emme and Devin collected $700 for Life Connection Mission. Emme has seen pictures of the children in Montrouis, some happy and celebrating the goodness they’ve received, others showing the daily struggles to eat, retrieve water, and find clean clothes. Emme remembers one picture “of a little baby that’s skinny, but his belly is fat. My mom said that baby is really hungry.” To an innocent 8-year-old, “This is what we have to do to help.”

Instead of bringing birthday gifts, seven-year-old Casey Reed asked his friends to bring toothpaste and soap for the poor children in Haiti. Casey says, “I feel good for the people in Haiti because this will help them stop feeling so poor. I felt proud and glad of myself because I helped Haiti! I want the children in Haiti to live a great life. I pray for the children in Haiti.” Congratulations to Casey on his birthday and on his selfless act of love. We have to hope that all the children who have given so generously will be the future of our mission!

Through their selfless acts, these children have served the Lord and their brothers/sisters in Haiti, taught a lesson we all can learn from, and spread a lot of love. The mission would like to thank them all for being young role models and learning at such an early age how to make a difference. Please pray for these children and continue to pray for the children of Montrouis. God has blessed us—let’s celebrate them and the kindness we learn!

For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.
