Humanitarian Relief
It's hard to forget the horrific scenes from Haiti that were plastered across our television screens and the newspapers in January 2010. For most of us, these terrible images seem like a distant memory. For Haitians, these images are still very much a reality as the recovery from pain and loss and efforts to rebuild will take years. Much of their hardship and poverty existed prior to the 2010 earthquake. Life Connection Mission's supporters seek to be instruments of God’s peace in Haiti in these trying times.
The day before the earthquake, Haiti was already the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. Starvation, disease, and homelessness were widespread. Infrastructure was incredibly poor and getting worse by the day. With this as a starting point, it is almost unthinkable how desperate the situation became in the days following the earthquake, and the desperation persists to this very day. Millions are still homeless, food remains scarce, and medical care is sporadic to non-existent. Government services continue to be extremely limited.
Our humble mission cannot possibly address all the needs in Haiti, but we are committed to do our part. We operate a variety of humanitarian ministries including a feeding program, a mission school, medical clinics, housing projects, an agricultural program, and a Christian outreach ministry. We strive to help increase the quality of life for those we serve and to create a sustainable future of promise for them in the name of Jesus Christ.
A significant percentage of the Haitian population is undernourished. With your contributions, we can host a feeding program for those most in need.
Farm animals provide an important source of food. They can also lead to life sustaining micro-industries for their owners and their families.
Many residents of Montrouis do not have access to clean water and basic sanitation services. They must rely on the local river and streams to drink, wash, and more.
Other Opportunities to Make a Difference!
“If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him? Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth.”
